Registered
Homes Act
This act came into being in 1984. Social services inspectors use
this act as a basis for their inspections of homes. The act covers
a number of aspects of a home environment such as décor and how
many rooms are available. Inspectors use the act to check office
procedures and records. Although the act is used as a basis for
inspection, it is not very far reaching. At an announced inspection
or even an unannounced one, inspectors only get a snap shot view
of a home, and do not have chance to see the real goings on within
a home.
These Regulators welcome compliments concerns and complaints. They
will swiftly act on received complaints whether made anonymously
or by a named complainant. Individual inspection reports of Registered
Homes are obtainable from Registration and Inspection Units on request
and will usually be posted out to requesters. The Department of
Health requirement is that each Local Authority makes reports available
as their budgets allows.

Resolution
When people at a meeting want to make a decision, they vote on it.
The decision people vote on is called a resolution.
Review
Panel
legislation does not oblige local authorities to follow
the recommendations of complaint procedure review panels, which
come together at the end of a complaint. As far as the courts go,
they may or may not make recommendations to comply with the recommendations
of a review panel.

Multi agency risk assessments for children, adults with a learning
disability, and other groups of the adult population whose mental
/ intellectual capacity may be impaired either temporarily or permanently,
is not uncommon and should be seen as good practice Families and
parents should be included in this process.
