At
present we recognise the absence of any adequate and accessible
data base that reflects the true level and extent of failures, concerns
or complaints about the care sector. We believe that despite existing
legislation, further reforms are needed because the system is still
seen to treat people with disabilities as second class citizens.
It follows that people with intellectual impairments or severe communication
disorders that cannot easily speak up for themselves are even lesser
valued.
We
need to collect feedback from people who use care services in order
to help establish a "peoples owned " database so we can inform you
of the real facts and campaign for the changes you tell us are needed.
The database we will create using your stories, experiences and
information will be transparent and accessible!
